Centuries before the beginning of your journey, the people of Borrius became involved in a devastating war against a foreign land. When defeat seemed inevitable, the king of Borrius summoned a mysterious dark force in an attempt to change the course of the conflict. The power was eventually sealed away, but many years later, an organization known as the Shadows begins working to release it once again.

As a new Pokémon Trainer, you must explore Borrius, uncover the truth behind the Shadows, challenge powerful opponents, and prevent the region from falling into chaos.

Pokémon Unbound takes place in a fully original region filled with snowy towns, mountains, forests, caves, deserts, coastal routes, ancient ruins, and hidden locations. Each area contains new characters, Pokémon encounters, optional activities, items, puzzles, and story events.
