Metroid Fusion, known as Metroid 4 in Japan, is a 2002 action-adventure platformer developed by Nintendo R&D1 and published by Nintendo for the Game Boy Advance. The fourth main Metroid game, set after Metroid II and Super Metroid, it follows bounty hunter Samus Aran on the Biologic Space Laboratories (BSL) station, where she’s infected by the X Parasite. Saved by a vaccine from the last Metroid, Samus, guided by her AI CO Adam, hunts the SA-X, her infected doppelgänger, across six sectors. Featuring non-linear Metroidvania exploration, Samus acquires upgrades like the Morph Ball and Ice Beam by absorbing X Parasites.
