Gameplay

Unlike most puzzle games where the player manipulates falling blocks from above, Wario's Woods puts you directly in the action. You control Toad, who runs around inside the playfield at the bottom of the screen. The goal is to clear the field of the monsters Wario continuously drops from the top. To do this, Toad must pick up monsters and bombs (which also fall) and arrange them. The core mechanic involves creating a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line of at least three matching monsters that includes a bomb of any color. This causes the entire line to explode and disappear. Players must think fast to create chains and combos to clear the screen efficiently before the descending ceiling of monsters crushes Toad. The game features a single-player round mode with escalating difficulty and a competitive two-player versus mode.
