The three heroes must journey through various lands, defeat hordes of enemies, and ultimately overthrow Dark Guld to restore peace. ## Background Released by Sega in 1991, *Golden Axe II* was a direct-to-console sequel for the highly popular Sega Genesis, building on the success of its arcade predecessor. While the first game was a port of an arcade hit, this sequel was developed specifically for the home console market.
